Why this combo works
Diamond already leans cyan, so lapis adds depth instead of fighting the base color. The Tide pattern reinforces the ocean theme with flowing diagonal movement.
Use Tide Walker for prismarine bases, conduit rooms, ocean monument farms, or any skin built around blue, teal, and white palettes.
How to build Tide Walker
The full Tide Walker set needs one trimmed helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. In survival, each smithing operation consumes one Tide template and one lapis trim material.
- 4 armor piecesDiamond helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.
- 4 Tide templatesFind one at Elder Guardian drops, then duplicate it for the full set.
- 4 Lapis materialsUse minecraft:lapis_lazuli once per armor piece.
- If starting from 1 templateDuplicate 3 times: 21 diamonds + 3 Prismarine.
- Find the Tide smithing template from Elder Guardian drops.
- Duplicate the template until you have 4 copies for the complete armor set.
- At a smithing table, combine each diamond armor piece with the Tide template and
minecraft:lapis_lazuli. - Repeat for helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots to complete the full Tide Walker set.
Tide template duplication recipe
Duplicate Tide smithing template
Crafting table recipe: 7 diamonds + 1 Tide template + 1 Prismarine gives 2 Tide templates. Starting from one found template, repeat this 3 times to prepare a full 4-piece armor set.
Smithing table recipe for each piece
Diamond armor + Tide template + Lapis
Use the same recipe pattern for every armor slot. Each row below consumes one armor piece, one template, and one lapis material.
Java /give command
Use these commands in Java 1.21+ to spawn the full Tide Walker set directly.
/give @s minecraft:diamond_helmet[trim={pattern:"tide",material:"lapis"}] 1
/give @s minecraft:diamond_chestplate[trim={pattern:"tide",material:"lapis"}] 1
/give @s minecraft:diamond_leggings[trim={pattern:"tide",material:"lapis"}] 1
/give @s minecraft:diamond_boots[trim={pattern:"tide",material:"lapis"}] 1
Bedrock notes
Bedrock Edition still expects you to apply trims at a smithing table. Give yourself the diamond armor pieces, then combine each piece with the Tide template and lapis material.
Style notes and variants
Best for: Ocean monument diver, guardian hunter, sea-temple champion.
- Tide + Quartz on Diamond for brighter wave lines
- Coast + Lapis on Diamond for a more common ocean set
- Tide + Amethyst on Netherite for a darker deep-sea variant
